MC4 - Quick User Guide
Preparation
- Ensure the SD Cards have sufficient space to accomodate your next filming session
- Correctly insert the SD Card in each camera in turn
- Ensure the camera batteries are fully charged prior to filming (including any extra batteries as required)
- Ensure the lenses are clean
Assemby
! ! It is of critical importance that the GoPro cameras are inserted into the Mission Cam 4 housing in the correct order. ! !
Failure to ensure this will result in poor image alignment at a later stage.
- Match the number on the front of each GoPro camera with the corresponding number on the Mission Cam 4 housing base.
- Fit the Mission Cam 4 housing top - ensuring the arrow lines up with camera 2
- Secure the housing top with the knurled screw provided
GoPro Hero 3+ Cameras
Power on the Cameras
Press all 4 power buttons in turn
Check the battery bars on each camera LCD display to ensure full charge.
Turn on the WiFi
Press all 4 Wi-fi buttons in turn.
Check that all 4 blue lights are flashing.
Turn on the Remote Control
Turn on the remote control.
- Check the battery level on the remote to ensure full charge
Check that all 4 cameras are connected.
Check the Capture Mode
Check the mode on the Remote Control before starting to capture media. We recommend using the video mode.
Use the Mode button to cycle through modes if necessary.
Position the Camera
Check the position and orientation before filming.
- Make sure the camera is level and at the correct height.
- Ensure that the important aspects of what you want to capture are towards the centre of one of the four cameras
Start Capture
Check Remote shows 4 Cameras before pressing capture button.
Press capture button to capture media.
Stop Capture
Check Remote shows 4 Cameras before pressing capture button.
Press capture button to capture media.
Turning off the cameras
Press and hold the Start/Mode button on the remote.
Check that all 4 LCD displays are off.
Press and hold each camera's Wi-fi button in turn.
Check that all 4 blue lights are off.
Transferring files to the Edit System
Plan filming carefully, considering the potentially long transfer and processing times required for large amounts of media.
Carefully remove the SD card from camera 1 and insert into the first card reader in the USB Hub provided.
- Repeat with cameras 2, 3 and 4
- Switch on your Mission Edit system and connect the USB hub.
- Use Media Mover to transfer your files from the SD cards to the external media drive provided
Recharge the cameras
Recharge the batteries to ensure they are ready for use
Toubleshooting
Most issues that may arise are due to insufficient power.
If any of the lights or displays show a persistant error message try removing the battery / re-insert and power up again.
